Bio:

Dr. Chiluwal is an Assistant Professor of Agronomy at Kentucky State University. He received Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Tribhuvan University, Nepal; Masters of Science degree in Biotechnology from Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, GA; and a Ph.D. in Agronomy from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS in 2018.

Dr. Chiluwal has experience conducting agronomic, crop physiology and high throughput aerial phenotyping research in multiple crops across wide range of environments. The goal of Dr. Chiluwal’s research program is to discover improved crop cultivation and soil management practices and identify site-specific best cropping system and crop management practices to improve crop productivity, profitability and sustainability. Dr. Chiluwal also uses aerial phenotyping in his research program to monitor crop growth, measure crop growth and physiological parameters and to detect biotic and abiotic stresses, irrigation, nutrient and other inputs limitations in the field. Dr. Chiluwal is also interested to work towards improving the quality of grains and end use products, identifying stress resilient cultivars and understanding source, sink and photoassimilates transport dynamics under different environmental conditions and biotic and abiotic stresses.
