The goal of the Online Master of Science in Environmental Studies (MES) Program is the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of environmental studies. Graduates use their knowledge in the natural sciences to protect the environment and human health. Graduates learn how to prevent and control environmental problems, address the interaction of the environment and agriculture, provide habitat restoration plans, find approaches to address the impacts of fluctuating climates and land use, advise policymakers, determine data collection and analysis techniques, and work to protect the air, water, and soil for the sustainability of ecosystems and human health. These issues are often addressed across a range of ecosystems, including forest, wetland, and agricultural, in urban and rural areas.
